FREE: Gizmos UI in Blender 4.3 (Project File)
Requires Blender 4.3 or above
So I spent over a year working on GUIs for virtual instruments, mostly using Blender, and when I saw that Gizmos got added to Blender 4.3, I was pretty hyped about the possibilities. Especially to create more intuitive interfaces. For now, I’m keeping it simple, and made a node group that generates a menu of Dial gizmos paired with a progress bar and output value. It’s nothing too complex under the hood, just using transform nodes to match up the UI elements with the gizmo position and size, but it works surprisingly well and is actually a lot of fun to mess with.
Since it's built on an experimental version, it's a little buggy here and there, but overall, it’s surprisingly effective. The biggest limitation right now is the lack of an auto-hide feature (there’s no 'is selected' node for geo modifiers yet), so I just used a linear gizmo to toggle visibility.
I’m definitely planning to keep toying with Gizmos to explore more user-friendly (and cooler-looking) assets.
